Maureen Denise McCormick is the younger daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born August 5th 1956 on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. Her family consisted of her mother, who was household worker and father who taught. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick has always loved singing, dancing and performing performances with puppets. After winning her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting into the world of entertainment. McCormick was hired to star in her debut major performance in 1964 on an tv commercial featuring Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It up until It Breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was among 1200 other children to play the eldest daughter to be a part of The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed newlyweds, who shared the same family as a blended one. The show ran for five years. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the show, she nearly lost her virginity to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. At the time, she was 16 and he was 19. It would have happened she said but the timing wasn't right for us.
